Dr. Evan Evans (dentist)

Dr. Evan Evans presented to us on the services provided by Orognathic Bioesthetic Institute dentistry also referred to as OBI dentistry. Bioesthetic dentistry focuses on restoring harmony and balance to the chewing system by correcting the causes of tooth wear, bite misalignment, temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) and muscle pain. Bioesthetic Dentistry seeks to conservatively correct the underlying causes of dental dysfunction. These corrections may provide relief from jaw pain, tooth pain, head aches, and neck pain.

OBI dentists begin treatment with a thorough analysis of the function of your chewing system. A maxillary anterior guided orthotic or "MAGO" is used to temporarily correct the bite, relax the muscles and stabilize the jaw joints. It is designed to stop the destructive effects of clenching and grinding of teeth, and to correct harmful chewing movements. The MAGO is also used to alleviate jaw joint and muscle pain caused by these problems. At this point an OBI trained dentist will then use sophisticated instruments and computerized diagnostics to determine the proper fit of your upper and lower teeth for their optimal function and performance.
