In this 30 minute small group work-shop attendees ready to take a healthy step forward will be given a structure to create a healthier future.   For those tired of the “do nothing” strategy but not sure what their first step should be this workshop is a must. 

 

60 Minutes to Living Better

Health education is crucial as health is a direction not a destination and requires consistent appropriate effort.   We are committed to you having the knowledge you need to march towards greater health year after year in a sustainable manner. This one hour session involves a presentation followed by a question and answer period designed for optimal learning. 

By attending these presentations you will develop into a more sophisticated consumer of the health related resources. Our goal is to educate you on relevant health concepts while inspiring action.

  • Does it ever feel like there aren't enough hours in the day?  "Stress Management: Strategies to Save Time and Live Your Passion" is a presentation that helped our patients with exactly that issue.  Local efficiency coach, Karen Turner, joined Dr. Hopf and gave us some fun and easy solutions for time and stress management that had us breezing through our day.
  • Cervus Corporation welcomed Dr. Bohemier as he presented on migraines headaches, easy tips on how to reduce the incidence and intensity of them as well as the negative economic effects that migraines have on our economy and workplace productivity.
  • Dr. Bohemier spoke to the Workplace Speaker's Network about how health influences productivity and how your level of health is correlated with your mindset around health.
  • Every day we make choices with our spoons that effect our health.  Local nutritionist Keri Adams joined Dr. Bohemier at September's monthly presentation as they discussed how immunity, energy, weight loss, pain, inflammation and bone density can all be influenced by what we eat.
  • Members of our team participated in the Canmore Half-Marathon on September 9th. Funds raised will go to support CAUSE Canada, an organization dedicated to supporting women's literacy and education in Africa and South America. Thank you to those who have generously donated!
  • Our community awareness team was out in force on Sunday, August 12th for Marda Gras. This is a fun, outdoor festival full of great vendors and lots of entertainment and happened in Marda Loop on August 12th.  Our team was there enjoying the festivities and bringing postural awareness to the streets of Calgary.
  • July flew by with the Stampede, great weather and long sunny days. Ashley, Laura, Joscelyne and Mylene participated in the Mud Heroes Race on July 22nd with a fun, very muddy ending.
  • The impact, background and treatment options for Migraine headaches was the topic of Dr. Bohemier's presentation to a receptive corporate audience during a lunch & learn in July.
  • Dr. Scholten presented to a group of chiropractors on efficient business systems through the use of task lists, the 360 review processes as well a how to structure a daily and weekly perfect practice meetings to optimize patient care and procedural integrity.
  • Brett Marshall and Dr. Hopf joined forces on June 26th and helped a full house understand how simple it is to "Sneak Fitness into Our Lives" with grace and ease.
  • Thank you to Blair Schacterle who co-presented on May 29th with Dr. Scholten, "Basic Injury Management", to a packed house as attendees learned about back health and injury management where basic but critical concepts were explored such as when to use ice and heat.
  • In April, Dr. Scholten presented to chiropractors in Seattle at TCW Consult's Changing Lives workshop on Professional Connections and Business Systems for long-term patient satisfaction.
  • Local naturopath Dr. Katherine Keys and Dr. Hopf presented "Spring Cleaning" in April regarding optimized digestion and strategies for cleansing.
  • In March we welcomed Jeannie Kennedy, RN for "Spring Melt - finding your ideal body composition as you lose weight", as she joined Dr. Bohemier in presenting information regarding optimal weight and lean muscle mass as well as strategies for creating sustainable change.
  • Dr. Hopf presented "Healthy Hearts are Happy Hearts" with Anastasia Henryato to a full house as our contribution to optimal cardiac function for the month of February.
  • Coril Holdings welcomed Dr. Scholten for a presentation, "Stand Straight, Feel Better", on the four healthy balances and the difference between health care and disease modulation.
  • A group of young professionals from JCI welcomed Dr. Scholten as he shared health concepts,  tips on 212 degrees of intensity and Secondary Vitals corporate assessments.
  • Dr. Bohemier shared tips on goal setting and resolutions as he joined Brian Baldwin presenting to our patients and their guests about how to make the best of a calendar turn in "New Year, New You".
  • Dr. Scholten spoke with a group of chiropractors in Seattle as TCW Consulting kicked off the first of it's quarterly seminars with "How We Win" and shared information to assist chiropractors in creating an environment where patients feel taken care of and welcome.
  • Dr. Bohemier was joined by Dr. Hopf and Dr. Scholten in his presentation as he explored posture, how NUCCA works and it's connection with your health.  Tips were also shared on how to optimize your posture and improve your life-long spinal alignment.
  • Dr. Race of Vive Integrative Health joined Dr. Scholten as they brought the naturopathic and chiropractic perspective on how to maintain a healthy immune system in our October We've Got Your Back, 'Heathy Children, Happy Family' presentation.
  • Our first 'Check Your Skeleton' Halloween party was a great success.  Thanks to balloon artist, Katie Morgan, for her fabulous creations and thanks to all the parents that brought their costumed kids of all ages to the office for a complimentary spinal assessment and as well as games, treats and balloons.
  • Dr. Scholten spent a few days lecturing at Life College of Chiropractic West to enthusiastic and thankful students on topics ranging from NUCCA Protocols and Professional Relations to Pediatric protocols. 
  • We've Got Your Back returned from summer vacation with Dr. Hopf being joined by Dr. Melina Roberts of Advanced Naturopathic sharing ideas on how stress impacts the human body and tips on what to do about it.
  • Dr. Bohemier's presentation of "Feed Your Spine"  gave our patients and their friends tips and information about key nutritional concepts.  A big thank-you to our guest expert, holistic nutritionist, Holly Veillard who provided some fabulous advice during our Q & A session!
  • Our inaugural "We've Got Your Back" workshop full of information about health, pain prevention and how NUCCA plays a role in keeping you feeling good was presented to a packed house at the Danish Canadian Club on May 31st.
  • The Canadian Association of Foot-Care Nurses engaged Dr. Scholten to speak to their national conference in Calgary in May about the keys to health and the physiology of pain.
  • In Orlando, at Upper Cervical Evolution, Dr. Scholten introduced the NUCCA procedures to an international audience of chiropractors, allied health professionals and upper cervical advocates.
  • Dr. Bohemier spoke at the Alberta Children's Hospital to a group of Orthopedic Technologists on the relationship between what they do and the neurology of posture.
  • Is work a pain? Thanks to Diane Stinson, Ergonomist who presented in April and helped us understand the proper way to work and avoid "work-lash".
  • In March, Rob Walker, owner of The Yoga Studio - South educated us on the different types of yoga available and the many benefits that can be realized through the practice of this vibrant art.
  • Our inaugural Ladies Night of Indulgence was a tremendous success.  Dr. Hopf with the assistance of Dr. Bohemier welcomed vendors to pamper our female patients and their friends/family for an evening.  With 75 attendees an evening of fun was had by all!
  • Practice Innovations in Newport Beach, California featured Dr. Scholten as a presenter.  This practice principles weekend was sponsored by NUCCA and organized by Dr. Scholten with upper cervical practitioners from across North America in attendance.

  • Thank you to James Fitzgerald and OPT - Optimum Training for hosting our patients and teaching us about Crossfit and how it can help us stay in shape.
  • In Atlanta Dr. Scholten joined Michael Gerber, best selling author of E-Myth, and presented to his fellow upper cervical chiropractors on how to establish and maintain a professional referral based practice.
  • Dr. Chris Long in Canmore and his patients welcomed Dr. Scholten as he presented on the Four Keys to Health
  • Practice Innovation 2010 welcomed Dr. Scholten as he spoke on the steps necessary to work appropriately with other professionals in clinical practice
  • Dr. Bohemier presented at the Calgary Golf Show and told avid Golfers and Golf Professional how to improve their game with better posture
  • In Seattle Dr. Scholten spoke to the attendees Health First conference on strategies to interact and communicate successfully with their fellow practitioners
  • Dr. Scholten was master of ceremonies in San Jose at Upper Cervical Fusion on the third day introducing author and business coach Michael Port during this inaugural event for the ICA's Upper Cervical Diplomat program
  • In Los Angeles Dr. Scholten spoke to enthusiastic students at both Cleveland College of Chiropractic and Southern California University of the Health Sciences
  • Dr. Scholten spoke at the Fall NUCCA conference in  Atlanta on Integrating Dentistry with Upper Cervical Chiropractic
