Flexibility
Flexibility is the ability of your joints and body parts to execute their full range of motion. Flexibility is required in all your day-to-day activities, such as bending, walking and lifting. A loss of flexibility makes muscles prone to tears, aches, pains and injuries.
The best way to maintain flexibility is to stretch regularly. Whatever your age, you must incorporate at least one stretching session into your day. There are many different simple stretches than can be done at your desk, in front of the TV, or even standing in a line-up at the store. Stretching with slow, gradual movements and holding each position for 30 seconds will help reduce muscle soreness even if the stretches aren’t done in conjunction with an exercise regimen. We have provided a booklet with full-body, gentle stretches that will assist you in maintaining supple, flexible muscles. Click here to access our full stretching library. (link to stretches)
